Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
Symbolism: This pose is a beautiful diagram of overlapping triangles created by the angles of the body. The upward-pointing triangles connect us to the heavens, while the downward-pointing triangles root us to the earth. As we extend in both directions, the body opens up and breath flows easily. The saying "That which is above is also that which is below" is embodied in this posture.
