And I'm in recovery too, so I GET IT!!!
This work will change the way you think and feel about
food, exercise, and weight so that you can finally move beyond the struggle.
And along the way, you can look forward to rediscovering your
most awesome, authentic, vibrant self.
In addition to my specialized work with disordered eating, I have a broad background in medical nutrition therapy that allows me to address a wide variety of medical concerns through nutrition counseling. Utilizing the same tools and techniques that I have used to help hundreds of clients recover from unhealthy relationships with food and exercise, I will help you reclaim your mind-body-food connection in order to rediscover the joys of eating. Get ready for a newfound sense of peace in your incredible body!

I graduated Cum Laude from San Diego State University with a BS in Foods and Nutrition. I then went on to complete my clinical training at the highly competitive VA Healthcare Dietetic Internship in La Jolla, CA, after which I earned my RD & specialty training in Eating Disorders. I studied yogic philosophy and practice, and earned my first Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Prana Yoga Center. After several years of working at all levels of severity with eating disorder clients, I saw that there was something missing in the way that we traditionally work through disordered eating and body image struggles... so I went back to hit the books once again and completed my training as a Somatic Therapy Practitioner under Ratha Chek~ the founder of the ISTP method of Somatic Therapy. During this time I received additional certifications in Integrative Thai Yoga Massage and Integrative Restorative Yoga, giving me the ability to practice this beautifully effective and unique form of somatics that involves therapeutic touch and movement for full integrated mind-body healing. I am a trained Eating Disorder Specialist, an Eating Disorders Clinician Supervisor, and a former Board Member Elect of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. I absolutely love helping people recover from all types of disordered eating and have been fortunate enough to practice in this specialty area since 2006.
Since the science of nutrition is constantly developing, I find it crucial to stay on top of the latest research and trends. In order to ensure that my recommendations are in line with the most current standards, I attend nutrition conferences and seminars, review research articles and professional publications, and meet regularly with other professionals for case consultation and continuing education. I have been featured as a nutrition and eating disorders expert on the San Diego news, on internet radio, in healthcare videos, on medical websites, and in many published news articles. I love public speaking on these topics and have had the honor of being invited to speak at several large conferences. I also provide training and education to dietetic interns as well as interns and residents of varied mental health professions on the subjects of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and recovery from chronic dieting. I have worked with clients at the Residential, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient levels of care, and served as the Director and Lead Dietitian of a Partial Hospital Eating Disorders Program here in San Diego. I am currently part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and provide expert consultation to physicians and therapists regarding the treatment of eating disorder patients. I am also a member of the San Diego Eating Disorder Dietitians group and am an advocate for public change and awareness of eating disorders.
